Jacoby Jones, Jones, Mike Tomlin, National Football League, NFL, Pittsburgh Steelers, Steelers, Tomlin
If the NFL finds that Tomlin intentionally interfered with Jacoby Jones return the Steelers would lose a draft pick and also a fine. If you add the downturn the Steelers have experienced this year. Maybe Tomlin gets the boot.
I watched the video again when I saw it during the game he looked as if he was waiting for Jones to get close stepped toward the field like he didn’t know he was coming and then jumped out of the way like he was surprised. But you can see him waiting for Jones to get to the spot. He could have been just watching and then moved out of the way. But if the league would enforce the sideline rules and start penalizing and ejecting coaches for infractions this would never happen. But the league let’s everyone on the sideline and coaches and staff are always on the field. College Football is the same. But High School you can’t do that they’ll flag you after a warning. It costs too much for your team to even get close to a sideline infraction.
Mike Tomlin I believe was guilty when I first saw the play. Watch this video and see what you think. It’s pretty clear that Tomlin knew Jones was approaching he clearly executed the jump toward the field to make Jones have to cut into the field. Tomlin has no justification on why he hopped toward the field. Had he been standing on the field and had to jump back that would be different. But come on when does a coach not pay attention to what’s happening on the field. And a coach wouldn’t be standing that close to the field right! C’mon Man.
