It is bound to happen. I’ve seen this happen a few times in high school when players get together and celebrate only to have someone injured after the jubilation. Georgia has lost a receiver to celebrating a touchdown and a torn knee for the reward and the receiver wasn’t even the one who scored the TD.
I’ve never liked to get in the way of spontaneous actions but after a player has scored or does anything on the field it shouldn’t result in piles of players slapping each other silly and jumping up in down for the fear of what most coaches know could happen. Someone getting injured because of a celebration.
Congrats should come but players should find a way to do it without beating each other up falling all over each other and certainly no jumping because the feet that are on the ground the player in the air has to come down.
Look for the NFL, NCAA and high school to take note of this and make sure players are protected against themselves from celebrating their season away.
