When the Lakers played against the Bobcats they looked at times as if they would wilt at the end of the game. The Bobcats didn’t get too many opportunities late in the game. The Lakers played some defense and Pau Gasol was the one of the players that made a difference on two plays that sealed the game. He made the free throws but the block at the end of the game was a game saver. Al Henderson had his way most of the game. But Gasol dug down and finished the game when he and Kobe turned the ball over way too much.
As far as the Gasol trade rumors they’ll continue to circulate until either he’s traded or just like every season he is on the team until the next round of rumors. I think Kobe and Pau have to be the two points of stability on this team and lead the team the entire season. You could trade Gasol but since Chirs Kaman isn’t a favorite of Mike D’Antoni and the situation isn’t changed except Gasol is a lot more skilled then Kaman. Plus Gasol does understand how to play championship basketball.
Lakers need to concentrate and put there energy on defense. Kobe is finding his game and got a lot of the Mamba legs back but still not quite at a 100 percent. But he is clever with the basketball and sometimes careless.. 20 points yesterday and not really looking to score all the time. Kobe again is reinventing himself and his game to cater to what the team needs. And contrary to what some people thought that he would find himself taking on all the scoring he isn’t doing that.
The offense will take care of itself. But if the Lakers ever hit the offensive glass hard they’ll find themselves maybe outnumbered on fast breaks. They should really concentrate on defense, That’s how they’ll find victories this season.
