This season started just like any other season for the Dodgers. A little slow not enough offense and the team not to energized. Millions of Dodger fans spend money and time going to the games year after year and this one is no different.
Enter Yasiel Puig. I’m not saying he alone was the reason for the Dodgers to now be in first place but he started this team down the road not much traveled by many Dodger teams.
If you’re not familiar the Dodgers have gone after pitchers and hitters but the Dodgers lack either one and found ways to lose games only to not place high enough to advance to the playoffs. This isn’t the case right now. The team has found the joy of winning and playing as a team. Guys are stepping up to the plate and getting base hits. They’re not necessarily swinging for the fences and it shows. They’re looking to have good at bats and even though Puig was taking heat for swinging at bad pitches he’s even making pitchers have to throw strikes.
This is the same thing I saw when the Kings broke into the playoffs and won the stanley cup. I’m not saying the Dodgers are going to win the World Series but at least they’re playing good baseball an exciting brand of baseball. This is the best I’ve seen them ever.
Fernando mania was something to see. But this team if they continue to play like they did against the Blue Jays. They’re going to be a tough team to overlook in the playoffs.
The most dramatic change for the Dodgers is that they’re exciting to watch. So as other teams face them they’re going to need to avoid the Blues. The Blue Jays got beaten down and had a chance in a couple only to have the Dodgers comeback and win every game. This team doesn’t settle. They’re hungry and excited and want to win every game.A lot of games left for them to continue the momentum. We’ll see how long they can keep on singing the Blues.
