The Dodgers haven’t done much for as long as I can remember but then came one from Cuba.  Yasiel Puig and everyone was saying all kinds of things about him.  But today he became the second player as a rookie since Joe DiMaggio to reach 44 hits. He went 4 for 5 and led the Dodgers to another victory.  Since he’s been with the Dodgers all he’s done is energized those around him.  If he’s not on the all-star roster something is wrong.  He’s fired up the Dodgers and Major League Baseball and we’ll see how long he can remain the spark plug of the league.

The emergence of Puig is one thing but the support around the team has picked up and his attitude has been positive for the Dodgers who are closing in on Arizona and remain 4 games back in a week they’ve made up 5 and a half games.

Puig is the energizer and for him not to make the all star game would indeed be sad.  I can’t remember when a single player in baseball has made such a huge impact not only on the Dodgers but around the other teams who will play the Dodgers.MJ did it in basketball, Gretzky in hockey and now Puig in baseball. Who thought the Dodgers could make the playoffs and if they actually make the playoffs if the team can continue to play baseball like they’ve been doing maybe it’s the Dodgers in the World Series. But a lot of time left until then.
